Doesn’t work in Chrome for some reason. I had to use IE.
Just a link to the making of Mac’s AIB ad, it’s cool to see the extra footage. Wicked the way Mac is so good switch stance as well
*
Although in fairness he does take a horrendous beating and pulls into a sick one at the end.
As usual hat’s off to Mick, master photo/videographer. Can’t wait to see the rest of the footage.

*I know this was AIB’s call not slagging mac or mickey.
Good Man Ferg.
Man am I wrecked.
Had three straight days of the most amazing surf in my life. ACtually it’s been two weeks straight of amazing surf and it looks like it’s going to continue all this week. There was a good crew around as well, here’s Ferg about to pull into a monster keg, Mickey is in front shooting video.
We had some great sun on some the days as well. But I’ll keep those for the mag I’d say.
This is such a crazy wave the ratio of height to throw is insane.
I’m so bloody tired though, I hadn’t realised how unfit I was, definitely need to start hitting the pool more often. A lot of the guys were doing two surfs a day and I couldn’t keep up I was always tired and freezing during the second one and wasn’t enjoying it at all.
Still wrecked today.
I’m off to watch some of season 3 of The Wire, although I do think Dexter is a better show, just finished watching series 1, man it’s good.
A new wave, and what a wave. I’ve decided I don’t like slabs as much as I used to. They’re too unpredictable. I got such a beat down this morning.
Solid six foot wave broke a few metres in front of me so I dove down and lay on the reef. This didn’t do any good at all, the wave picked me up and gave me one of the most violent beatings I’ve had in a while (although I say that about the worst beating of every session). One of the ones where I got rag dolled for a few seconds, suddenly felt air on my face, opened wide and gulped in while I could but all I got was a mouthful of water as I got sucked back under for more thrashing about. But at least I didn’t hit the reef or loose my fins/housing.
I can’t believe I’m complaining though, Damo took at least three if not four proper beat downs, one of which he had to get out and walk back across the reef afterwards, and he kept paddling into them.
Hope everyone else had a good day. Photos when I get back to Cork.
Yes today is the 22nd which means that the days are getting longer and that seems a much more sensible calender to follow than some random old Roman one (open to correction on the origin).
Swell is pumping all week and winds are mostly good for the west and north coasts. Have a good christmas and go get wet.
Well it’s done.
I have a new car but Lance went out in style, taking me from Clare to North Connaught and back in a day and then going around Clare on Monday morning. He served us all.
So I’ve got a new motor, it’s a silver Avensis. So people will know who’s waving at them.
I tried a really starnge thing yesterday. I had this weird long shaped plank made from fibreglass and I was satnding on riding the waves on the beach. It was fun, I mudt try and do it more often.
Although I probably should have been shooting.
Ah the joys of it.
As usual shots to come in a day or two.
Well my pops swam across the English Channel last night as part of a relay team.
He was first in the water at 1pm yesterday and they finished around 5 this morning.
He has started a blog at , will be updated in the next day or two I’d say.
I’m currently trying to brush up on the mathematics of quantum mechanics. This maths is quite strange and uses lots of letters and symbols instead of numbers, now a lot of these symbols have associated symbols that link two different things together, usually a * is used to differentiate between the two.
Unfortunately my screen at work is quite dirty and the text on wikipedia is quite small so half the time I can’t tell if it’s actually an * and they mean a different symbol or if it’s a piece of dirt, resulting in me constantly trying to scratch my screen to see what’s going on.
The people in my office probably think I have some fancy touch screen
Hah.
